that is my hope for myself as this year was not as fantastic as compared to 2009.
but nonetheless, it's way better than my 2008. thankful, still, regardless of the outcome.
here's to my annual reflection of what my life have gone through this past year.
JANUARY was the beginning of the happiest moments of my life. i had my first date with the person i kissed the month before. from then on, we went out almost every week for the remaining 6 weeks of my stay down under. wine and dine, watched a street performer, walk along the yarra river pausing for a short to kiss out in the open, a ride on the ferris wheel, coffee at a cafe, and more kisses to close the night.
FEBRUARY is my most suprising, romantic, sweet, romantic or did i say romantic valentine's day. a knocked on the door and there i saw roses and white flowers while the person who sent it was with me on my bed mouth shut. i asked if it came from him and he said yes. i got the biggest smile as far as i can remember. this is the first i received it with the purest of intention -- not because i wanted to receive one nor trying desperately to win back my heart. with his gesture, he won my heart.
MARCH came and i had to come to the realization that this amazing 6 weeks of my life with this wonderful person will come to a close. we parted ways optimistic that we will be seeing each other again. and i resolved with myself to focus on the positive and not dwell on the unknown. what we know is that we make each other happy and that i promised to myself to love like i have never been hurt before.
the first two weeks of this month i spent with my brother who flew in from the US. we traveled to different places in melbourne, sydney in australia and auckland, christchurch in new zealand.
melbourne - yarra river, flinders street, federation square, melbourne central, st. patrick's cathedral, royal botanical garden, shrine of remembrance, 12 apostles, great ocean road, bath houses at mornington, ottway treetop, the enchanted maze, phillip island, slept at the airport on a very cold floor due to a cancelled flight.
sydney - sydney harbor, sydney opera house, harbor bridge, botanic garden, circular quay, opera bar, hyde park, st. mary's cathedral, a parrot eating my brother's runners, 3 sisters, art gallery.
auckland - rotorua's geothermal wonderland, auckland bridge to bungy, zorb (from the amazing race).
christchurch - fox and franz josef glacier, slept in the car on a very, very cold evening, pancake rocks.
rendezvous with him before going back to manila. it was a sweet experience and possibly the turning point into our relationship. he bought me a kangaroo toy that we named as JK and JJ for her joey.
this month also is the start of my new work on a new team.
APRIL is the month of my birthday and i celebrated it with a bang. music and open bar and got drunk in the process. i received a present from his - my new chuck taylors. when happiness comes, sadness follows. i have found out that my petition is gone. as i said: 15 years down the drain.
MAY to SEPTEMBER, met with uneventful experiences except that i learned new skills at work and until AUGUST, i have decided to pursue migrating to NZ instead of AUSTRALIA (my first and only love).
OCTOBER i rendezvous once again with him in malaysia for 4 days. and just got to visit only the petronas towers and the rest is history. :)
NOVEMBER family came home only to dreading the 2 weeks of their stay. big argument erupted where somehow my relationship with them got a chip. out of emotion, i finally decide to submit my expression of interest to new zealand.
DECEMBER i got a positive feedback on my expression of interest. start to formally submit my application of residency.
overall, it was an ok year for me except my nonstop blabber about him and the amazing travel experience. it's his weekly calls that i look forward to and i am really grateful that he still keeps in touch since last march. i do pray that this is the person for me.
a boring read right? happy new year, blogger friends!! :)
