dev = no life

i have logging a lot of work hours lately close to a 24-hour shift.

this morning, i left at past 5am where i came in at 8 am the day before.

you see the day passes to night passes to morning and to the afternoon and still in the office with near sauna-like temperature.

Dev life is not a bed of roses! glad that i am on the other side of production support.

being in either groups has its pros and cons. if you would like to deepen your technical or business analysis skills, go for Dev. but if you want to have an easy life with not so often, if not rare instances of round-the-clock shift, PSG is the way to go.

anyway, i was ordered to go back to work after 7 hours but made a lame excuse not to come to work. it's not in my nature to defy my boss... heck, my conscience is bugging me to abuse myself even more. but i'm trying to resist. thinking of myself first. i have to take breather to prepare for another possible 3 to 4 8-hour shifts in 1 day.

i'm glad that i did take time to relax as i had a chance to take the splint out of my right hand for a breather, to bathe it with hand soap, scrub off dead skin and begin my self-therapy to regain mobility. that is if only my part of me who wants to be in the office to shut up!

note to self: it is ok to not go to work today.
