first blessing of 2009

monday, gem called me asking i was called to our boss's office. this week was performance appraisal week. that means it is the week of performance bonuses, salary raise and promotion.

told her that we weren't called yet. and, hence, the beginning of my first negativity of the year. agitated, nervous, and never ending 'tsk' coupled with moving my head from side to side showing that i was not expecting good to come out of it. added insult to injury, my planned lunch fitting of my bridesmaid gown was postponed.

i honestly admitted to myself that 2008 was not a good year for me. my work got affected by my personal life. i was not good at what i was doing. always distracted and too much, i mean, TOO MUCH mistakes.

lunchtime, i felt good. maybe because gem had treated me for lunch. she shared her blessing she got via the "performance bonus". i had to escape the office because of the anticipation. i decided to tag along with gem, dave and tito for lunch then off to zara for gem to shop for more winter clothes.

tuesday had gone by and neither of my team member were called for the performance appraisal. so i thought that maybe i really did worse and i did not deserve it.

wednesday... finally, i was called. and the grade i got was ok. as expected. later on, my manager called me back and i got a bonus and an increase of my salary!! I WAS HAPPY!!!

i really don't how much or how little i got. i don't to ask others how much they got. bottom line, i got one and i think i deserve it. despite the mistakes i have committed, i sincerely did the best that i can do.

2009, i believe, will be a fruitful one for me. and i am so looking forward to it. i have confidence in me.
