i have sinned

it is the season of lent. i want to abstain from something in observance of this catholic event.

the first plan was to abstain from eating meat every friday but decided otherwise during lunch as i was about to eat beef kebab i loved from persia grill. so my friend said to sacrifice something else.

i had a great idea. i decided to stop using my credit card from making shopping purchases as my alternative sacrifice. you see, i am not a shopaholic. my goal for this year was to make myself liquid because last year, i was going through major retail therapy. saving was out the window. and what's so major about it? i was addicted to shoes.

sexy, high-heeled shoes.

i was so excited to start this sacrifice, i happily ordered my chelo kebab kobideh.

9 hours later, i faltered.

flashback about an hour earlier. while window shopping around greenbelt 3, gemma pushed me inside T - a shoe store. a couple of minutes later she bought a pair of shoes on sale. i was happy that i resisted buying one (though the one shoe i particularly liked didn't have my size). i even criticize her for spending again. at that point, i realized that the major retail therapy i was having was just my so called rebound boyfriend. and now i have broken up with him or maybe her?

and so i thought.

i was not on a rebound after all.

i have an addiction. i bought 2 shoes after her. not from T but from nine west. 2 black shoes, another addition to my collection of black shoes.

gem told me just to buy 1. i didn't listen.

i swiped my credit card for them. later on i realized that i already have 3 shoe purchases for 2009 and it's not yet even the end of february!

came home and decided to finally count the shoes i have in my room. i stopped counting at 30 pairs!!

an addiction. addiction. addiction.

i should stop. no shoe purchases until end of june.

keeping my fingers crossed.

and by the way, we watched confessions of a shopaholic afterward.
